OUR MISSION
Our mission is to improve the quality of
life for individuals who live with mental illness and their families
by promoting the availability or effective services and resources,
through education, support and advocacy.
National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Spartanburg
WHO WE ARE:
We are a non-profit, grassroots organization dedicated to improving the lives and treatment for those who live with a mental illness.
We provide free education, support and advocacy to people with a mental illness and their families
helps to build better lives
for the +87,000 Spartanburg, Cherokee and Union County residents with a
diagnosable mental illness and their families.
The
majority of funding for NAMI Spartanburg comes from donations made by
members of the local community, individuals and corporations alike.
We are an affiliate of NAMI South Carolina (namisc.org) and NAMI National (nami.org).
WHAT WE DO:
NAMI Spartanburg programs fall into two general categories: support or
education. Each program is intended for a different population. All
programs are led by individuals who have been trained by NAMI. They are
not professionals, but are individuals who have dealt with mental
illnesses, either themselves or with loved ones.
